This photo was taken just before 1.30 pm on a very cold January day, Standing in the Copper Coast sea with feet wet and head on winds made it feel a lot colder and more of a challenge to stay and wait for the right conditions. I had been there since 8.00 am that morning and was confident that I might have at least one photograph that worked from the right hand side of the bay. Over 5 hours later and now working on this photograph situated on the opposite side of Ballydowane Bay, a few very important factors fell into place. I wanted the sun to gently shine light highlights on to the sea stack and cliffs. For this to happen and to not have aggressive highlights and shadows a light cloud cover was needed to come in to diffuse the strong sun light. At exactly 1:29.49 all these factors came together. I love how this photo worked out, the mood and atmosphere represent what I saw with the naked eye and beat my expectation of what could happen.
